Version1, former North American representatives at VALORANT Champions Tour Stage 2: Masters Reykjavík, signed Just Breathe from Game Changers to form VersionX.

VersionX are the all-female VALORANT team that will compete in Game Changers and other VALORANT tournaments. Just Breathe have competed in previous Game Changers tournaments and small events like the fourth Sakura Cup, where they placed top eight. The team is built around former Dignitas player Kiara “milkyway” Makua and Counter Logic Gaming Red player Naomi “Naomi” Sauvola.

The team is composed of former VALORANT and Counter-Strike Champions that have been competing in Game Changers since early 2021, when the team first formed. As one of the few organizations to sign an all-female roster, Version1 are showing that they are dedicated to excellence in all aspects of VALORANT.

“Our goal is to be the top female team in VALORANT and we know that, with hard work, that will come,” Kiara “Milkyway” Makua, VersionX’s team captain and in-game leader, said on the team’s announcement from Version1. “When we started playing together, we wanted to be good enough to make it to the main VCT Game Changers event and we’ve accomplished that. As VersionX, we’ll continue to build on our success. Being together in Minnesota will help us improve in-game at a much faster rate.”

VersionX are ready to bring championships to Version1

The former Just Breathe roster has been making waves within the Game Changers community. They recently qualified for the Game Changers Series 2 main event in June, where they placed seventh out of the eight teams invited from the open qualifiers. They finished behind some of the best at Game Changers, including Cloud9 White, CLG Red, Dignitas and TSM FTX.

Riot Games recently announced registration for Game Changers Series 3 for the open qualifier. This open qualifier takes place from Sept. 24-26 and will open an opportunity to make it to the main event and compete against the best of the best. This will be VersionX’s first opportunity to make a name for themselves under their new organizations. It will also be the perfect opportunity for the women to showcase their individual greatness now that they are no longer a part of Just Breathe.
