Out of nowhere, Treyarch and Activision announced a multiplayer Alpha for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Revealed at the PlayStation 5 showcase event yesterday, the Alpha will run from September 18 to 20. However, Treyarch might open the servers a little early, so stay tuned for details on that. Still, Black Ops Cold War multiplayer will be playable for the first time this weekend and the community is abuzz with anticipation. Thankfully, the developers have let us know exactly what we can expect from the Alpha weekend.

Black Ops Cold War multiplayer Alpha details

In a new blog post, the developers over at Treyarch have given us a full rundown of what’s coming over the weekend. Players can expect a similar experience to what the content creators at the multiplayer reveal event had on-hand. This means that every weapon, map, and mode the creators played will be available during the Alpha.

  • Armada (12v12)
  • Crossroads (12v12)

  • Combined Arms: Domination (12v12)
  • Team Deathmatch (6v6)

  • Hardpoint (6v6) (Added Saturday, Sept. 19th)

Along with this content, three Perks from each category, four Wildcards, Field Upgrades, and eight Scorestreaks will also be included. If you’re wondering how you’re going to unlock all of these items in just 48 hours time, there’s no need to worry. Designer Tony Flame has stated everything will be unlocked and yours to use throughout the Alpha.

The Black Ops Cold War multiplayer Alpha begins at 1 pm ET tomorrow, September 18. However, we’ll be sure to let you know if Treyarch surprises us with an early release.
