Summer Smash Cup and interactive exhibition
The Fortnite Summer Smash Cup is a special in-game event taking place during the first weekend of the Australian Open. The Summer Smash Cup will be available starting Saturday and finishing Sunday. There’s still no word on what the Summer Smash Cup looks like and what prizes will be on offer. However, according to Fortnite News, players can earn the new Stash’d Outfit. The Summer Smash Cup will only be available on the Oceania Server.

Interactive Australian Open exhibition
As part of the Lands Down Under Island, an interactive AO exhibition will be available in Fortnite Creative. Due to the ongoing COVID-pandemic, the Fortnite Summer Smash will take place completely online. In previous years, there was been an interactive fan zone where gamers can play Fortnite, win prizes, and engage with one another. In order to give fans this lived experience, the interactive exhibition was created.
There’s no word on what will be available in the online exhibition yet. However, we can assume it will be something similar to what players experience if they were to come to the Fortnite fan zone. It seems likely that the interactive exhibition will be available to all fans on all servers, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Where to watch Fortnite Summer Smash
Whilst the Australian Open tennis tournament is still taking place physically, the Fortnite Summer Smash competition will only be online. The casters will be calling the shots live from the Australian Open precinct in Melbourne, Australia.
The Summer Smash Invitational takes place on the last weekend of the Australian Open. On Sunday January 30, before the Australian Open tennis finals, the Fortnite Summer Smash will be live. Fans around the world can tune in an watch all the action from the Australian Open Twitch and YouTube channels.
