Today’s reveal includes a handful of long-time WWR veterans. In fact, some of them boast perfect attendance, having appeared on every single iteration of the Wi-Fi Warrior Rank. Maintaining such a position amidst Smash Ultimate’s most stacked online season yet is certainly no easy feat.
WWRv5: 30-21
If seeing Brian “Benny&thejets” Navarro on the rankings is any sort of surprise to you, then you’re probably new to the scene. Benny&thejets has been running Wi-Fi longer than the WWR’s been ranking it. For his fifth straight appearance, Benny&thejets flies into the WWRv5 at No. 30. This makes him the second of four members of the perfect attendance club.
The name of the game for Benny&thejets this season was success at the Quarantine Series. At the series’ Minor tournament, he rocketed to 5th place, defeating Regi Shikimi, Lui$, Glutonny, and Sonix. That performance more than earned him a spot at the next month’s Major. There, he kept up the torrid pace by blasting away colinies, Vinny G, Cosmos, and Ned for 7th place. Benny&thejets’ other S-tier showings were somewhat inconsistent. However, several more wins and relatively few unranked losses added up to an excellent season all the same.
Someday in the far, far future, when society has long since fallen apart and the red giant sun threatens to swallow the Earth whole, then maybe, maybe Benny&thejets will miss the WWR. But that day is not today. As long as he’s got a controller to hold, a bracket to enter, and some Elton John to blast, one thing’s for sure: he’s gonna rock it, man.

MD/VA’s iconic young legend Brent “enhancedpv” Davis slashes his way to a third season in a row on the WWR, this time at No. 29. Though he was ranked top 10 last season, the influx of strong offline players and larger events than ever may have brought down enhancedpv’s ranking as the overall talent level rose. Don’t be fooled though. His Cloud and Wolf are still among the very best, and have what it takes to contest the toughest of opponents, online and offline threats alike.
Throughout this season, enhancedpv took a multitude of silver medals at B- and C-tier events. Among them were Steal the Show #2, TNS: Pandemic Monthly 3, 2GG Crisis Core: Final Saga, and Straight Outta Smashville: Anthology 5. He also placed well at the tough major events that popped up throughout the season. Such placements included 25th at The Box, 33rd at the Quarantine Series Minor, and 13th at Rev It Up. Along the way, enhancedpv managed to accrue an undeniably strong string of wins. He defeated Pokelam, Sonix, SKITTLES!!, sebayee, JW, Mr. E, and many more.
Despite the influx of strong competition, enhancedpv still performed excellently during the WWRv5 season. He was able to hold his ground against some of the strongest and highest-ranking players in the game. As one of the few players who have managed to stay high within the ranks of the WWR for all three seasons of Ultimate, it’s clear that enhancedpv is here to stay as one of the most hazardous Cloud mains worldwide. Be on the lookout for this swordsman for a potential fourth season in a row. There seems to be no limit to what he can do.

Making his well-deserved return on the WWRv5, Bruno “Br1 AV” Assemany explodes onto No. 28 following a simply amazing season. This grenade-throwing Snake continued his dominance, showing why he deserves to be called one of Wi-Fi’s best, as well as the second-best player in Ecuador.
Attending 44 tournaments over the course of the season, Br1 AV had many opportunities to score wins against Wi-Fi’s best players, and he took advantage of them. Some of his best results occurred during six C- and B-tiers. At these events, he outperformed the competition and took home many gold medals. Those six tournaments were Glowpoint Happyhour #1, SSBU Center New Year’s, Straight out of Smash Station, Smash Hammer: Final Showdown, CGL Cash Grab, and Officer’s Academy Tournament. Among these events, Br1 AV collected two wins each on Sharp, SuperStriker, BeJay!, AirSwimmer, and The6Master. In addition, he took down players like SKITTLES!!, FatNess, LuffyMK, Hen, and Mr.L.
The accomplishments didn’t end there, as the Quarantine Series Major saw him defeat JW, Haven, and Seagull Joe en route to a 17th place finish. Br1 AV notably picked up a third win on Sharp while placing 4th at SK Monthly #2: Electric Bugaloo. He also defeated Lights while taking another 4th place finish at Every Man for Himself.
As clear as day, these results set Br1 AV apart from the crowd and exhibited how strong of a candidate he is for best Snake in the scene. He continues time and time again to stand with the best, while facing the toughest competition Wi-Fi has ever seen. For now, he sits at 28th as he continues to be a dominating force in any tournament he enters. No matter how much camo Snake wears, nothing will hide the skill and slew of excellent performances of Br1 AV.

After four consecutive appearances on the WWR, mayor Elam “Pokelam” Rosario comes back to town as a household name. Heightened competition may have lowered his rank from 12 to 27, but that doesn’t mean Pokelam dropped the ball. His reputation as the best Villager in the scene lives on. The beginning of his axe-cutting for the WWRv5 season was at Pound Online. After losing to Laid in top 256, Pokelam tore through the losers bracket. He beat Ash!, Colmar, MJ, and Epic_Gabriel, before ultimately falling to SuperGirlKels in a close game five for 13th place.
At The Online Olympus, Pokelam once again enjoyed the fruits of his labor as he defeated Player 7 and Sytonix. In addition, he continued his reign of terror on R.O.B.s by beating Grayson. Pokelam’s star performance at 2GG Crisis Core: Final Saga established just how skillful this Villager is, as he reached 3rd out of 676 players. There, he netted wins on LazyZach, Airswimmer, Dragneel, Locus, and Beast, and yet again pushed his positive record on Grayson.
Pokelam’s record versus the top 50 mellowed slightly after being among the highest last season. Still Pokelam continues to bowl over the competition and receive the strikes he deserves. It is certain he will continue making a name for himself both online and offline after quarantine ends. As he continues winning and reaching for the stars, he’s already got the balloons and fireworks for a proper celebration.

The titanium Texan himself, Grayson Ramos spins his way to the ranks at No. 26 on the WWRv5. His trajectory was an upward one from the beginning, with his placements at majors steadily climbing all season. Interspersed among the majors were a number of strong B-tier showings. For example, Grayson placed 5th at the Hitpoint Online Tournament, defeating Sharp, 8BitMan, Sogoodpop, and Haven along the way. Fittingly, his season-long climb came to a peak at the Online Olympus, where he defeated SuperStriker, sebayee, and rival R.O.B. Epic_Gabriel to land in 5th place at the A-tier event. He ended the season with a 14-16 record against the top 75 and a 5-6 record against the top 20. As a result, Grayson’s R.O.B. is a force to be feared by any player on Wi-Fi.
As the season went on, fewer and fewer forces could cut Grayson’s runs short. One can only assume that his momentum will keep on rolling. Despite his name, there’s no gray area when it comes to your fate when facing him. You either shape up or get eliminated at whatever percent Grayson pleases.

Robin “RobinGG” Gronau continues his fruitful reputation, floating through this season’s top competition to place No. 25 on the WWRv5. Despite hiding behind his parasol most of the season, his results were nothing short of exquisite. RobinGG’s strong performances demonstrated why he deserves another spot in the top 50, and the title of one of the best Peaches on Wi-Fi.
Hailing from Germany, where he is power ranked No. 4, this prominent Peach had sweet, sweet wins across the board. He defeated fellow WWRv5 competitors such as Atticus, Lights, Sharp, Sumgai, Sword, SKITTLES!! and more. Robin’s biggest achievement this season came at the A-Tier ECLIPSE: Dusty_Carpet Edition. Through winners, he beat the likes of Whisky, Mr. L, and Sword, before losing to SKITTLES!! in Winners Finals. Through losers, he finished off Whisky and reset the bracket against SKITTLES!!, finally falling in the second set to claim the silver medal.
Keeping up his long-standing reign in the ECLIPSE series, Robin achieved victory at the ECLIPSE Championship League Finale. He defeated some familiar faces such as Sumgai and Bejay!, but fell again in Winners Finals, this time to Sharp. However, that didn’t stop him this time. RobinGG defeated Whisky yet again and double-eliminated Sharp to win the C-tier event from losers.
As one of the only players to rank on every iteration of the WWR, and doing it with one of the most technical characters in the game, few are able to match RobinGG’s skill and consistency. The future is looking peachy for this veteran. If he maintains his legacy throughout the next season, you best believe you’ll be saying a salty “GGs” to RobinGG!

Entertainment comes in many forms, but the kind that Brett “8BitMan” Esposito provides through both his personality and gameplay is unmatched. Coming in at the No. 24 spot of the WWRv5, he had many excellent performances this season. His most notable standing by far came at Pound Online, where he rose to the podium with a 3rd place finish. 8BitMan took down threats such as MkLeo, Wrath, JW, and Tarik in his path. His other results include 17th place at the Quarantine Series Major, where he snatched victories over Mj and Pokelam, as well as a 2nd place finish at The Lionheart Crusade that included a win over Lights. 8BitMan also placed 13th at the Hitpoint Online Tournament, earning yet another win over JW.
With an 8-10 record against the top 75 and a 5-6 record against the top 20, the only thing that keeps 8BitMan from going even higher are the six unranked losses he took over the course of the season. Greater consistency with similar peaks going forward will yield an even higher ranking for 8BitMan. Whether you’re a fan of his playstyle or his humor, it’s no secret that 8BitMan is a formidable opponent in bracket, and you should expect more coming from him as the year develops.

Long regarded as NorCal’s best player offline, Luis “Lui$” Oceguera took to Wi-Fi this year and had an exceptional season. As a result, he landed a spot in the WWRv5’s top 25. Lui$ utilized a dizzying array of characters including Mario, Fox, Dr. Mario, Palutena, and R.O.B as he decimated the competition. With this diverse lineup, he reached top 8 at two S-tiers, and top 16 at two others.
Lui$’s first few runs to top 16 at S-tiers came at both the Quarantine Series Minor and Major. He placed 13th at both, with wins over The6Master, VoiD, SuperStriker, Samsora, and RobinGG between them. At B-tier event The Southlake Series, Lui$ lost to Grayson in winners, but defeated him twice in Grand Finals to win the event. He also collected wins on Epic_Gabriel, Aaron, and Underdoc along the way. Rev It Up 2020 brought Lui$’s best S-tier result, as he defeated Chag, LingLing, and ChunkyKong to place 5th. He followed this up with a second S-tier top 8 at UNW #12, where he once again beat Epic_Gabriel and Grayson to place 7th.
The only real shortcoming in Lui$’ season was his low win count against those above him. He only had a 3-9 record against the top 20. However, his season was stellar nevertheless, and his +5 X-Factor speaks to his potential to ascend higher in future seasons. Threatening no matter which character he uses, Lui$ will always remind you that that dollar sign isn’t just for show. He’ll be taking home the money wherever he goes.

Returning to the WWR for the first time since v2, Joshua “Pelca” Bedoya blows his way to a more-than-solid No. 22 spot. The highlight of Pelca’s season came off the bat, as he won Lag Spike: Ultimate New Year in early January. There, he collected a win on Middy, and two valuable wins each on Sparg0 and Lights. Some of his other notable performances included his 1st place finish at NINBOI’S POWER PLAY TOURNAMENT, where he extended his record on Lights, and his 13th place finish at the Soaked Series Invitational, where he did the same with Sparg0. His three wins over Sparg0 in particular are the most out of any player this season.
Despite Pelca’s blistering start to the season, his second half was one of the most inconsistent of anyone this season. His early wins at several C-tiers were offset by a number of early exits in similarly-tiered events. Despite an impressive 17-9 record against the top 75, he stands as the highest-ranking player with more losses to unranked players than ranked ones.
A finish to the season that matched his start would certainly have carried Pelca higher. Regardless, he still stayed well within the top third of the WWRv5. Pelca has shown he can take multiple sets off of some of Wi-Fi’s best. If he can do so again this season, he won’t be going anywhere but up.

Finishing up this segment of the reveals is Florida’s Alexis “Goblin” Stennett, slicing and dicing a path to No. 21. Attending 19 total tournaments, Goblin attended the most WWRv5 events of any current PGR-ranked competitor. More importantly, he performed as someone worthy of the title. Goblin’s record at these many events was one of highs and lows, ranging from 5th place at Pound Online to as low as a 257th at The Box. Nevertheless, Goblin’s highs outweighed his lows this season.
His strongest performance by far was at Pound Online, where he beat WaDi, Sparg0, Maister and LingLing. Slowing only to Wrath, Goblin also took home a solid 2nd place finish at WiFi is SS-Tier! At that event, he earned wins over SuperStriker, Lights, Yez, and AndresFn. His other notable performances included a 4th place finish at Mazer Gaming Gives Back, with wins on Maister, Underdoc, Lights, and Wrath, and another 4th place finish at Hitpoint Online Tournament, where he double-eliminated Grayson and also beat Lights and Mr.L.
With numerous good performances and an 11-12 record against the top 20, Goblin is kept out of the top 20 only by 11 total unranked losses that drag him down. With a slew of solid results against many top 20 players, Goblin has showcased why he’s been a PGRU mainstay. He’s well on his way to becoming a WWR mainstay as well.
