The Final Cup event for World of Warcraft’s Mythic Dungeon International is happening between March 12 and 14.
Eight teams are duking it out for a chance to secure the final spot in the Global Finals. In April, the top six teams will join China’s top two teams and compete for a share of the $300,000 USD prize pool. The title of Mythic Dungeon International Global Champion will also be on the line.
Currently, the teams that are fighting for a chance at the title and lion’s share of the prize money include: Echo, Sloth, Does Gargoyle Stream?, PI ME, Perplexed, Reload Fulcrum, Obey Alliance and the Golden Guardians.Â
Final Cup Day One results
Echo won the first match of today’s Final Cup event against Sloth after playing through two solid dungeons.Â
Meanwhile, the first two games between PI ME and Does Gargoyle Stream? resulted in a 1-1. However, PI ME managed to pull through in the third game. Perplexed faced Reload Fulcrum in match three. Similar to Echo, Perplexed achieved a score of 2-0.
As for the last match of the day, the Golden Guardians went up against Obey Alliance. The Golden Guardians, who were the runner-ups for last year’s 2020 Mythic Dungeon International, came in clutch and won in their second match against the opposing team.
They continued with another successful round in the third game and scored 2-1, which put them in the upper bracket. Â
The next set of World of Warcraft esports matches will continue on Saturday and Sunday. On March 13, the Golden Guardians will clash against Perplexed in the upper bracket. Meanwhile, Echo will be challenging PI ME.
As for the Global Finals, they are scheduled to take place between April 23 and 25.
