WWRv3 ranks top 50 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Wi-Fi players

It is currently ranking season for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, as the PGRU ranks the top 50 players in the world. Meanwhile, the Wi-Fi Warrior Rank v3 ranked a different set of Smash Bros. Ultimate players. The WWRv3 is the first Smash Ultimate ranking that organizes players based on their performances at online tournaments.

Like the PGRU, the WWRv3 lists 50 strong online players. It even includes a set of honorable mentions known as Area 51. This list is specially reserved for talented players who may be unable to attend offline events. In the past, several Smash 4 Wi-Fi Warriors went on to have strong performances at larger national tournaments. Among these were “IcyMist” and Brian “Cosmos” Kalu. The WWRv3 is as follows:

The stars of the WWRv3 at offline tournaments

Despite his status as the No. 1 WWRv3 Wi-Fi player, king_chris is relatively little known in the offline Super Smash Bros. Ultimate scene. Still, king_chris boasts some respectable offline placings. His major results include 33rd at GOML 2019, 33rd at CEO 2019, and 65th at Smash’N’Splash 5. He has beaten players like Mason “Locus” Charlton, Dustin “Zenyou” Rice, Luis “Lui$” Oceguera, and Brett “8BitMan” Esposito.

Of all the Wi-Fi Warriors, Sparg0 is by far the most prominent at offline tournaments. He has done well at majors, placing 17th at CEO, 25th at 2GG: Prime Saga, and 49th at GENESIS 6. Sparg0 also finished in 4th place at a notoriously stacked Weds Night Fights weekly in June. He has wins over James “VoiD” Makekau-Tyson, Takuto “Kameme” Ono, Robert “Myran” Herrin, Ricardo “Sinji” Mathison, and Matt “Elegant” Fitzpatrick.

Two other WWRv3 players with strong in-person tournament results are Epic_Gabriel and Riddles. Epic_Gabriel placed 13th at Come to Papa 3 and 25th at CEO 2019. He has beaten Reia “Blank” Drucker, Jason “Mew2King” Zimmerman, and king_chris. Riddles placed 13th at GOML 2019 and 33rd at Pound 2019. He has beaten Eric “Mr E” Weber, Jason “ANTi” Bates, and Jonathan “Jw” Woldu.
