If you ever wanted an easier way to get free items in Fortnite, Epic Games announced something great today. Now a new partnership between Fortnite and YouTube lets players earn free rewards. All you have to do is simply link your YouTube and Epic Games account. The new feature called “Drops” launched today and adds another reason to tune into live broadcasts and Fortnite specials being broadcast on YouTube. It begins with tuning in to watch Game Jam Hollywood, the first of many YouTube Drops.

What is Game Jam Hollywood?

Game Jam Hollywood tells the story of a secret Fortnite event in Hollywood, California. Sixteen of the best Creative community builders came together and combined their powers to create brand new Creative games for the Fortnite World Cup Finals.

You don’t need to watch the whole broadcast; just 20 minutes of it make you eligible for your Drop. You can view either Game Jam Hollywood or any of the World Cup broadcasts. Of course, a reliable internet connection also is needed while watching the broadcasts. What a neat way to increase viewership numbers and give back to players at the same time!

Here’s the full schedule from Epic Games’ blog as well as what you will get.

  • 7/25 – Game Jam Hollywood premiere.
  • 7/26 – Fortnite World Cup Finals Day 1 live broadcast.
  • 7/27 – Fortnite World Cup Finals Day 2 live broadcast.
  • 7/28 – Fortnite World Cup Finals Day 3 live broadcast.

Collect all three unique, World Cup-themed rewards:

  • 7/25 – Game Jam Spray
  • 7/26 – Game Jam Spray
  • 7/27 – World Cup Spray
  • 7/28 – World Cup Spray + Red Line Wrap

How to link your accounts

  1. Sign in to YouTube in a desktop browser.
