There’s a new sheriff on the streets of Verdansk ’84 and it’s a recognizable sight for veteran Warzone fans. The CR-56 AMAX, after a brief hiatus, has returned to the meta in a huge way in Warzone Season 3, with the right loadout. After the nerfs to the FFAR and AUG, players immediately returned to the familiar weapon when buying a loadout drop.
Throughout Warzone’s life cycle, the CR-56 AMAX has been a trusty gun but never the top dog. It features great stats, boasting consistent damage, low recoil and good range. However, it still needs the right loadout to stay atop the meta in Season 3.
Best CR-56 AMAX loadout in Warzone
The CR-56 AMAX has become a go-to weapon for competitive streamers and casual players alike, helping replacing the FFAR from Season 2.
Unlike that weapon though, the AMAX utilizes a skillset more designed for medium to long-range gunfights rather than close range. That’s not a problem though, as a top loadout for the AMAX makes it just as useful as any other weapon in Warzone. This loadout is being used widely across the community, meaning players can run these attachments and see instant improvements.

- Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip

As balanced as can be, this CR-56 AMAX loadout excels at pretty much any range, within reason. While it still might get outclassed by fast-firing SMGs up close, it’s more reliable at medium ranges and beyond.
The use of the XRK Zodiac S440 barrel, Monolithic Suppressor and Commando Foregrip help to balance the loadout. All of these attachments boost some form of recoil control, with the Zodiac barrel also improving damage and fire rate to help with any close range encounters. The Monolithic Suppressor keeps players off the radar when firing, as well.
Rounding out the loadout are the 45 Round Mags, which are pretty standard for rifle loadouts, and the VLK 3.0x optic. The optic is always going to be a personal preference but the VLK 3.0x is a great sweet spot when it comes to optimal zoom levels in Warzone.
