The Sten faces an uphill climb trying to gain popularity within the submachine gun class of Call of Duty: Vanguard. At least in the beta, it’s up against the iconic Thompson and MP40 SMGs, which both have better stats than the Sten. Naturally, players are drawn to those weapons before the Sten, but that doesn’t mean the gun has a lackluster loadout in CoD: Vanguard.
One drawback to using the Sten is that it will need to be leveled up before it becomes totally viable. The SMG needs some key attachments for it to match the power of the Thompson or MP40. This might lead some players away from the Sten, but those that stick with it through the early levels will be rewarded with its best loadout in Vanguard.
Best Sten loadout in Call of Duty: Vanguard
Like the Thompson, the Sten is terrific in close-range engagements but it doesn’t excel at range. For this reason, players should design its loadout with more attachments that increase mobility, rather than attachments that balance out range and mobility. However, that’s not to say that our recommended Sten loadout is completely void of attachments that will help with medium or long range firefights.

This Sten loadout utilizes many attachments that increase ADS speed, while also helping with close-range battles that are bound to occur with this weapon. Attachments like Gung-Ho and the Quick Kit help support other attachments that boost mobility. Although, there are also attachments like the Carver Foregrip to give the Sten some extra recoil control at range.
While the Sten won’t turn any heads in CoD: Vanguard, this loadout will serve aggressive players well.
