A slew of weapons have been introduced into the meta of Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5. From assault rifles to submachine guns, no weapon has cemented their status as the top meta weapon in the days leading into Season 6. This has given way for some unconventional guns to enter the spotlight, like the AK74u and its high-potential loadout.

Fans of the AK74u might know it best from Black Ops Cold War, where it’s easily the best SMG in multiplayer. However, in Warzone, it doesn’t hold the same pedigree. It has been passed over by several other guns in the class. Still, while players might not see its potential, a new loadout has surfaced that allows the AK74u to compete with the best weapons in Warzone.

Best AK74u loadout in Warzone

In order for the AK74u to stand a chance against weapons like the OTs 9 in Warzone, it needs to deliver a lethal punch. This means the recommended loadout for the weapon has a couple of damage range-boosting attachments that can help it kill enemies quicker. Also, it needs some extra mobility to once again match and even surpass its SMG counterparts.

  • Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
  • Barrel: 10.3” Task Force
  • Laser: Tiger Team Spotlight
  • Underbarrel: Bruiser Grip
  • Magazine: 40 Rnd Drum

For damage purposes, the GRU Suppressor and 10.3″ Task Force barrel are the attachments for the job. Both increase damage range and bullet velocity, with the GRU Suppressor also adding suppressed fire.

Damage aside, players will also need the mobility that SMGs are known for. The Tiger Team Spotlight increases the player’s ADS time with the gun and the Bruiser Grip increases overall movement speed. This allows players to be a little quicker on the map and utilize the AK74u to the best of its ability. The final attachment is the 40 Rnd Drum to give players some extra bullets.

This AK74u loadout can certainly hang with the best that Warzone has to offer.
